01/04/25 Tues. Happy Birthday Ana! Car booked for tomorrow night to go down to Kota Kinabalu again on Thursday - doc appointment and to take anchors for galvanising (if the factory is open!)
03/04/25 Thurs. Set off just after 0600 on the drive to KK. Found the galvanising place and dropped off the two anchors and 10 metres of chain, then drove to Damai for breakfast and to see Dr Melinda. She gave me a little more treatment and said to come back in 6 months time. Shopped for a new motor for Ana's Singer sewing machine, picked up the repaired laptop and checked into hotel.
04/04/25 Fri. Met up with Craig and Josephine at 1200 as we were bringing Craig, the dog and cat back to Kudat with us. Heavy rain for the first half hour of the drive back and the remainder of the time spent dodging pot holes along the way! Had dinner in the yacht club cafe with Craig, Andy and Mel.
11/04/25 Fri. Had a phone call this morning from Unimekar Metals telling me that my anchors have been galvanised and ready to collect, so I arranged a car for Monday and we will drive down to collect them (and some medicine from Dr Melinda).
14/04/25 Mon. Drove down to KK again and collected my two anchors and 10 metres of chain, all newly galvanised. Also collected my medicine from Dr Melinda, only to have to go back later in the day as she had given me twice the amount ordered. Drove back to Kudat and unloaded the anchors, so they are back on the boat now.
15/04/25 Tues. Booked flights to Manila for end of the month and a hotel. We have to go as both our visa's run out soon, and as we have no anchor chain we are unable to sail down to Brunei for the visa run.
24/04/25 Thurs. I'm told that my new anchor .chain is now in KK and will be delivered to Kudat in 3 days time. That's when the problems will start!
25/04/25 Fri. Checked in with Air Asia and have our boarding passes now.
30/04/25 Weds. Our taxi picked us up from the jetty and drove us down to KK. We were in plenty of time and had time to kill before going to the airport, so we had a late breakfast at Coffee Bean then a wander around Centre Point. Even arriving at the airport, we were well ahead of time for boarding. Our flight took off on time.
