01/07/21 Thurs.  Off to the Immigration Office this morning, not that I wanted to go but thought we had better try and make ourselves 'legal' again after so long without a visa.  They had previously told us to come in on the 21st June but we could not do that due to the latest lockdown (MCO3) - which has now been extended indefinitely but the government offices have re-opened.  Anyway, we went, and they issued us with a 30 day special pass with a 14 day period of grace to renew it on expiry.....meaning we will have to renew on the 13th August.  Only took 3 hours to stamp our passports!

03/07/21 Sat.  I've had lower back pain for the last two days, probably because of the 3 hours standing waiting in the Immigration Offices - getting a little better now.  I did some filling on the instrument pod today so now it looks a touch nearer completion.  Kudat is at the top of the list of new covid cases today with 69 new cases and 1 death in the last 24 hours.

09/07/21 Fri.  Not a great deal happening here in the pond, we've been over to the yard and helped with a mast re-install, measured up for a sail cover for Kaya and done a few small jobs of our own.

13/07/21 Tues. We went over to the yard again today for the first fitting of Kaya's mainsail cover.  More sanding and filling of the instrument pod throughout the day.  The xenophobic head of Kudat Health Department is still refusing point blank to give vaccinations to any foreigners.  Over 60 year olds should have been vaccinated in stage 2 of the programme which has long since passed.   We have now registered an address in KK on the My Sejahtera app,, so we hope that we can get vaccinations there although it will mean an 8 hour drive there and back.

16/07/21 Fri.  I've given up offering help to all but true friends, as I'm tired of being refused simple assistance when I need it.  I'm done!

17/07/21 Sat.  We had a squall come through last night, had to go and rescue Sebastian's drifting kayak and then repair a broken stern line on Neil's boat.  The big green steel barge that supplies the islands got caught in the wind and ended up on the rocks on our side of the pond, but they managed to get it off when the wind died down.  We had a repeat of it again this afternoon and the forecast is for more of the same each day with Thursday forecast to be the worst.

22/07/21 Thurs.  Much of the same squally weather all week with Saturday now forecast to be the worst.  The winds are preventing me doing any sanding as we don't want the dust going everywhere!

24/07/21 Sat.  Yesterday afternoon, we got a call from a nurse in the health department, asking us to attend the community centre at 0800 today for our first vaccination.  Later in the evening, we got a second notification on the MySejahtera app. telling us to attend for vaccine at 0830 - at two different locations!  We ignored the app and went to the community centre at 0730 this morning where we both got our first dose of Covid vaccine (although it did take almost 3 hours to get it!)  Our second is scheduled for the 14th August.

29/07/21 Thurs.  Gusting winds of 30 knots continue each day and I am forever checking lines and the proximity of other boats.
